Prime Time Murder (Hollywood Whodunit #1)
Author: Brittany E. Brinegar
5 out of 5 Stars
New to Holly wood, aspiring actress Becky Robinson lands a job as a gopher on the set of her favorite TV show. However, nothing goes to plan when just as she arrives for her first day, she finds the dead body of one of the show’s stars. When Becky’s ID badge is found with the body, she ends up at the top of the suspect list. With a bumbling CBI agent in charge of the case, Becky is determined to uncover the real killer and clear her name. Also at the top of the suspect list is Justin Woods, the victim’s ex and another star on the show, and he comes to Becky for help. Working together, and with help from her best friend Lois, will Becky succeed or be forced to call her mother, a lawyer, for help?
This book was very well written. The mystery was interesting and had some good twists, and there were some funny scenes. It’s fast paced with some action, like multiple chase scenes. There was good dialogue, and I liked the interactions between the characters, especially Becky, Lois, and Justin.
I really liked Becky, Lois, and Justin. Becky is a little awkward but confident in her acting ability. She’s very determined and witty. She and Lois are very good friends. They went to college and are now roommates. Lois is anxious about getting in trouble because of their investigation but is still willing to help. Justin is a former stuntman turned TV star, but he hasn’t let the success go to his head. He wants to clear his name and save his reputation and prove himself as an actor.
There really wasn’t anything I disliked about this book, so I’m rating it 5 out of 5 stars. If you enjoy cozy mysteries that have some action and like stories that include actors and Hollywood, then you should read this book.
