A hitman is shot in the head in broad daylight, then a corrupt lawyer is drowned in the shower, and a single white feather is left on the bodies. They are only the first victims in a series of brutal killings being investigated by FBI Agents Adam Symes and George Cox. The backgrounds of the victims soon reveal that the killer is target bad people. As the agents slowly begin to close in on the killer, details of the killings make them wonder if the killer is even human.

This supernatural thriller had an intriguing plot. It starts as just a serial killer thriller, but soon enough the way the victims are killed hints at the supernatural. There are a lot of hits about what kind of being the killer is. Honestly, it’s not very subtle, but I didn’t mind it. The story has a good ending and sets up the sequel well.

Overall, the story is well written. However, there were a lot of editing mistakes. Throughout the book, I noticed many misspellings, like Tad instead of Thad, and where instead of were. There was also some incorrect punctuation. I will warn that the deaths were brutal and gory with some descriptive detail.

Agents Cox and Symes are okay characters. Cox is older and more focused and serious. He’s dedicated to his career, but he also has a sense of humor. Symes is in his early 30s and seems to have a sex addiction. Despite that, he is still good at his job and able to focus on the case when he needs to. However, not much about their backgrounds is revealed, except that Symes was in the military and that neither of them are currently in a relationship. I liked them well enough, but I didn’t feel like I truly gt to know them.

Overall, I did like this book, and I’ll eventually read the sequel. Weighing the good and the bad, I decided to rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.This is a good book for anyone who likes stories about supernatural killers or stories where a lot more is going on in the plot that how it first appears.
