Haunted: The Sparkly Badgers’ Anthology by Multiple Authors

Haunted: A Sparkly Badgers’ Anthology

Multiple Authors

4.5 out of 5 stars

Haunted is a collection of 13 short stories and 6 poems from 15 authors. They’re all spooky and suspenseful, and some even have a Halloween theme.

Overall, there’s a good variety of plot and themes. Like I mentioned, they’re all spooky and suspenseful, but beyond that, some edge more towards horror, while others have a more paranormal or fantasy element.

None of them were badly written, but some did a better job of drawing me in. I liked all the stories to a varying degree, but I didn’t have a favorite. However, I was most intrigued by the story titled “Dress Like an Animal”. Some of these stories left me with questions, but “Dress Like an Animal” is the one that I would be very interested in reading if the author ever decided to expand it into a full novel.

I’m generally not a fan of poetry, but these ones were good and still created a creepy atmosphere. I most liked the one called “Address to a Pumpkin”, which is about jack-o’-lanterns.

Overall, this is a very good anthology. Some of the stories could have been better, but I had no real complaints which is why I’m rating it 4.5 starts out of 5. Definitely consider this book for the Halloween season.
